It’s been a long year, loads of amazing projects, one close to my heart is the #branding and #design of the artwork for the release of my friend Kat May’s new album. Catch her new album released this year – (listen to the album here)… I’m so proud of what we achieved.
Project Notes: Kat May – Le Sacre
It’s been a long year, loads of amazing projects, one close to my heart is the #branding and #design of the artwork for the release of my friend Kat May’s new album. Catch her new album released this year – (listen to the album here)… I’m so proud of what we achieved.
Kat asked me to help with the direction of cd/vinyl and marketing for the release of her second album “Le Sacre”. The direction we took mixes emotional and personal photography with a touch of gold inspired by the Japanese tradition of kintsukuroi. Kintsukuroiis the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with urushi lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. The method is similar to the maki-e technique. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise.
